CAS is conceived as a way to improve the speed of bringing arboricultural research to bear in commercial applications.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are central to this aim and CAS is designed to enhance the IPR of people who develop pure research into applicable products by disseminating those products to the industry.

By protecting and enhancing the IPR of product developers CAS intends being the natural incubator for new and innovative application of Arboricultural research.

CAS encourages product developers to create their products both as a training event with full walk away skills and products as well as an annual “License” fee with, (implicit in that ongoing relationship), the responsibility on the product developer to continually inform and develop his or her licensed users to keep their product and knowledge absolutely current and therefore “legally adequate”.
